Coffs Harbour’s cultural and civic space, Yarrila Place, will combine art, people, technology and culture to create a vibrant community center.
Its façade aims to represent the indigenous history of the place, while developing a contemporary, engaging and captivating artwork with the essential theme of illumination, Yarrila meaning “to illuminate” in Gumbaynngirr.
It is designed to transform the library, museum and gallery into spaces more suited to the Coffs Harbour area’s growing role as a regional city and tourist destination.
In addition, the building will also house the council’s administrative offices, a coffee shop and bookable community work and meeting spaces.
