Y-Square Shopping Center

Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea

Junglim Architects

This project is a medium-scale commercial building designed to create a pleasant shopping environment. Considering that the area is densely populated due to the university campus and dense housing estates surrounding the site, the building denotes a sense of openness with a rooftop plaza in connection with the box shape of the building. Junglim Architecture Studio created a vibrant image of vertical and horizontal patterns with the use of Tempio’s ventilated façade panels and, for the main façade, used some of these same panels to make them “sink” into the building, using lighting on them to continue this feeling at night.
