Project
Tívoli Building

Location
Cartagena, España

Architects
Martín Lejarraga Arquitectos

The project rehabilitates the original building through the recovery and conservation of its latent historical and architectural qualities. The intervention provides the necessary vision to underline the value of its unique characteristics and revitalise both the building and the surrounding urban area.

A new volume is built on top of the existing construction, with a differential presence of sinuous configuration that contrasts with the geometric rigour, of military order, of the historic building. The contrast between the two levels of the project is further emphasised by the blue ceramic modular elements, the FF-O 3/40 pieces by Tempio, which make up the ventilated façade of the new flats and generate a continuous and recognisable image.
